Best Time to Visit
If you’re travelling to the west and south coasts or Hill Country, it’s best to visit between December and March. If you're headed to the east coast, plan to visit April-September. If you want to see the Elephant Gathering in Minneriya National Park, September and October are the best times to visit.

Best Time to Visit
As you might imagine, Antarctica is not accessible much of the year. The cruising season, which takes place during Antarctica’s summer, runs from November to March. For the most pristine landscapes (and the coldest temperatures), visit earlier in the season before the migratory birds have settled in. Plan your trip in December or January for warmer weather, longer days, and a higher probability of seeing penguin chicks. If you want to see more migrating whales, wait until February and March.
